4th Grade T-Shirt Designs!
We have some very talented 4th graders who used their artistic skills to design water bottle stickers and a T-shirt as a way for us to help students in need at our school. This "help" could be in the form of gas cards, grocery cards, clothes, winter outerwear, tennis shoes or whatever the need may be.
Sometimes families fall on hard times and the staff and students at John Harris brainstormed to come up with a way to help ease the burden for people we care about.
Stickers of the winning design will be for sale during Conferences on Thursday, February 9th in the Multipurpose Room for $2.00
Below is a link to the T-shirt store. As you "shop", be mindful of 2 different designs, 3 colors to choose from, and Adult and Youth sizes. The DEADLINE to purchase is February 20th at 11:59 p.m.

Yesterday was a big day for 5th grade!
All 5th graders attended a program about a soldier in the Revolutionary War at the Old Courthouse Museum.
After returning, 5th graders rooted through all the 5th grade classrooms learning about simple machines. Pictured are students from 503 learning about wheels and axles in 505!

During last Friday’s “Sip and Sketch” celebration, each classroom chose a unique approach to express their creativity. 503 made colorful name banners with a variety of mediums and 401 chose videos off of Art Hub and was able to recreate them using canvases and paint!

From Ms. Powers: “Thank you, John Harris PTO and families! The PTO funded my grant for a tossback for my 202 friends!! Research shows that hand-eye coordination by tossing and catching a ball helps us become better readers! It is just like reading across a page from left to right!”

Last week, 502 and 503 went head to head during “explorer battles!”
